Having pioneered the first ever stage race in the beautiful country to Tajikistan in 2024, we are pleased to announce our next event: The TMT 2025. The TMT is a 6-stage, supported trail race through the rugged Fann Mountains of Tajikistan. It mixes challenging runs on ancient trails over rocky peaks and through lush valleys, with plenty of time to take in the natural beauty and explore the glacial lakes and valleys where we camp each evening.

A Fully Supported Race
You will run with a light pack, and everything else is carried for you. Each stage will end at a tented camp where we will eat and recover together as we trade stories of the day’s adventures and enjoy our natural setting in community around the campfire. The event will provide all food and lodging throughout the event. Runners will only need to carry what they require for the day’s stage (i.e. light pack and your favourite energy snacks). Additional baggage will be transported for participants to the next camp.

6 stages, 8+ days
The race is 8 days total (including a transport day), though you will likely want to come for 8-10 days or more. There will be 6 x racing days, 2 x traveling and rest days, and then you are free to explore the Pamir Highway, Dushanbe or other nearby sights.

This is the first year we are running the race, and have decided to keep it small and friendly. There will be no more than 30 like-minded runners. Most runners are from Europe and North America, with a small group of talented local runners joining us to develop their running skills.

Come and run to have your names recorded in the history of the Silk Road. All stage winners in 2024 were recorded as the initial holders of the Fastest Known Time (FKT). But there’s room to beat these time! We will be tracking your run timeand posting the Fastest Known Time for each at fastestknowntime.com.

Majestic Fann Mountains
These mountains and valleys were explored by Alexander the Great, whose namesake lake is our final, stage 6 stopping point. Along the way you’ll see stunning peaks with a total elevation gain will be 7,500m across four mountain passes with the highest reaching a max elevation of 4,091m above sea level.

All who can complete this daunting challenge will be celebrated for their great physical and mental strength and the one who does it the fastest will be crowned the champion of the Tajik Mountain Traverse.
